Practice for the 2025 Riverdale Texans Youth Football Organization begins April 7 in Riverdale, IL. Sessions run Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30–8:00 PM. Players must arrive on time, prepared to practice with helmet, pads, cleats and water.

Practice Starts June 12th

Riverdale Texans Youth Football Organization fall practice will officially begin on Tuesday, June 12. All players, parents, and coaches are encouraged to attend as we kick off our new season in Riverdale, Illinois.

Practice Days and Times

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Time: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so players are dressed, checked in, and ready to start on time.

Location

Practices will be held at the Franson Park practice field in 14400 S. Atlantic Ave Riverdale, Illinois. A detailed field address and directions will be provided by your coach or posted on our official communication channels.

Please park in the Metra lot and not on the street.

Who Should Attend

All registered Riverdale Texans YFL players for the current season
New players who have completed, or are in the process of completing, registration
Parents and guardians who would like to receive season updates and information

What Players Should Bring

Football cleats and comfortable athletic clothing appropriate for outdoor practice
Helmet and pads (if issued; otherwise follow your coach’s instructions)
A water bottle with the player’s name clearly labeled
Any necessary personal protective equipment (mouthguard, etc.)

Please ensure players are well-hydrated before arriving and prepared for changing outdoor weather conditions.

Health and Safety

The safety of our athletes is our top priority. Coaches will emphasize proper warm-up, stretching, and tackling techniques to help reduce the risk of injury. Please keep your child at home if they are feeling ill or showing any signs of sickness.

Any changes due to weather, field conditions, or schedule adjustments will be communicated through our official team messages and social media channels. Please ensure your contact information is current with your team representative.
